This project seeks to celebrate our more recent past in the words of the colourful characters who live and work here to create a vivid snapshot of our town in 2007.

Geometry of Fear
7 June – 19 July
Art historian Herbert Read coined the phrase ‘geometry of fear’ when describing the angst- ridden post war sculpture of Lynn Chadwick, Eduardo Paolozzi and Kenneth Armitage, shown at the 1952 Venice Biennale. These powerful works gave British sculpture an international footing.
