The Wilson

Welcome to The Wilson, Gloucestershire’s premier art gallery and museum home to an internationally significant museum collection of exceptional quality and variety, changing displays of our Designated Arts and Crafts Movement collection, fine art collections, and The Paper Store, which houses our fascinating archives relating to Antarctic explorer Edward A. Wilson, Cheltenham’s history and the Emery Walker Library.

Our temporary gallery spaces offer an exciting programme of changing exhibitions. This summer we have Fake: The Great Reveal straight from the popular Sky Arts series Fake! The Great Masterpiece Challenge as well as Queen Victoria in Paris featuring over 40 stunning watercolours from The Royal Collection capturing the historic state visit to Paris and the first by a British monarch in over 400 years. Find out more on our Exhibitions pages - both exhibitions open 17 June 2017.

The varied programme is of the highest quality and is designed to offer something for everyone. We also offer a diverse range of events, workshops, courses for adults and children and a well-established schools programme.

Don’t miss The Wilson Shop and Café, where a tempting array of treats, gifts, souvenirs, books and children’s gifts awaits.

The Wilson is also home to Cheltenham Tourist Information Centre, offering friendly tourist advice and accommodation & transport booking services.

The Wilson What's On brochure is available here.
