As part of ARTIST ROOMS On Tour, we are delighted to be hosting
three thought-provoking works by contemporary video artist, Bill Viola. Viola's work is internationally celebrated as establishing video as a pioneering art form. His works focus on
universal human experiences - birth, death, the unfolding of consciousness—and
have roots in both Eastern and Western art as well as spiritual traditions.
The Wilson is looking for up to 30 young people (aged 16 – 25) to create a piece of work inspired by this exhibition. Facilitated by workshops led by an audio visual artist, you will be part of a group creating an exciting artistic film piece. This group project will involve filming, editing and production, then curating the space to display the finished work, and hosting a special private view evening.
If you would like to be involved in this exciting project, contact Olly Tipper at firstname.lastname@example.org
The works on display are taken from ARTIST ROOMS, an
inspirational collection of modern and contemporary art acquired for the nation
by Tate and National Galleries of Scotland through the generosity of
Anthony d'Offay with additional support from funders, including the Art Fund.
The ARTIST ROOMS tour programme, now in its seventh year, is showing at 17
museums and galleries across the UK in 2015. The tour is made
possible thanks to the support of Arts Council England and the Art Fund.
