Tickets available here

The Last Word in Art? explores the theme of language – word, image and body – in 20th century and contemporary art.

With work on display across a range of media by artists including David Hockney, Richard Hamilton, Tracey Emin, Jeremy Deller, Ian Hamilton Finlay and many more. Selected from the Arts Council collection and the collections held at The Wilson, the exhibition will show artists’ approaches to the use of text and language in the visual arts, and prompt debate about how ideas around the visual, literary and conceptual converge and diverge.

Please note that the exhibition is closed on the 25 and 26 December and 1 January 2017. Please also note the exhibition will close early on the 24 December and 31 December.

Open Monday – Wednesday / Friday – Saturday 9.30am – 5.15pm. Thursday 9.30am – 7.45pm. Sunday 11am – 4pm.
(Closed on 25 & 26 December, 1 January and Easter Sunday)
