What are the possibilities?

BREAKING_ NEW GROUND is about exploring where we are and where we could go. It’s a living exhibition about the stories we hold in our building. It’s about us, and it’s about you. It’s an experiment, and it’s about where we could go…

The Exhibition:
A giant temporary wooden structure created by Spike Island in Bristol will fill the gallery where we will be opening our doors, inviting you into our space and asking : The Wilson – what are the possibilities?

We’re working with community groups and artists for ‘takeover days’ - a new tone for a new space. This type of show will be a first for the Wilson - instead of telling you what we are, we’re going to ask you to tell us!

Alongside this, we will be displaying objects from our museum, with brand new interpretation. The first section of this exhibition is about the stories we hold in this building. Some are well-loved objects taken from our museum, and some are items that haven’t been on display for many years. These stories however, are slightly different. These are the stories and secrets that live inside our team and are the things you can only know after years of working with these objects.
