Silk, Squalor & Scandal - Hogarth’s London

William Hogarth was one of the greatest visual recorders of 18th-century London life. The chaos, scandal and theatre of this period is captured in his engravings including Gin Lane, Southwark Fair and Marriage a la Mode. A modern take on his Rake’s Progress by Chio Kao suggests some aspects of life haven’t changed.
