First Thursday

At The Wilson, Cheltenham's Art Gallery and Museum

First Thursdays are an evening of cultural events happening around The Wilson.

The first Thursday of every month

Local bars, restaurants and shops come together with The Wilson, Cheltenham’s Art Gallery and Museum, to find creative ways to engage visitors in a multidimensional experience. On the first Thursday of the month, Clarence Street, Royal Well Road, St George’s Place and Church Street combine to become a cultural hub of food, music, performance, art and retail; all within walking distance and outside of traditional working hours.

The next First Thursday event will be on Thursday 5 March:

The Wilson from 6pm- 9pm: In celebration of international Women’s Day (IWD) visitors can enjoy the launch of our latest exhibition Sisterhood by artist Danielle Salloum. Visitors can also take a look at a series of short films created by young people from our community. Films are based on inspirational women and empowerment.

The Wilson from 7pm -7.15pm: Meet the Artist. Danielle Salloum will be talking to us about her practice .

Badlands from 6pm: Record store day list launch party, plus female focused music in celebration of IWD.

Incom Gaming at 2 Pigs from 7pm: Late night gaming.

The Stable from 8pm: Live music.
