Save the Date: Museum Shop Sunday is coming to Cheltenham

The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum will celebrate Museum Shop Sunday on 25 November 2018 with artists in residence, book signings, product samples and a fun and festive atmosphere.

As the perfect antidote to Black Friday, Gloucestershire shoppers are being urged to visit The Wilson to browse its carefully curated collection of stylish gifts inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement and the town’s local history and Antarctic connections.

On Museum Shop Sunday, local visual artist Anthea Millier, Mexican-born illustrator Genaro Martinez Medina and photographer Tim Chance will be creating live works of art. Local history author David Elder will also be signing copies of his most recent books Historic England: Cheltenham and Cheltenham in 50 Buildings.

More than 100 UK venues are participating in Museum Shop Sunday 2018, along with more than 600 venues across 10 countries worldwide. Museum Shop Sunday is supported by the Association for Cultural Enterprises.

Vikki Dean, who is co-ordinating Museum Shop Sunday on behalf of The Wilson said: “The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum is a hidden gem of gorgeous gifts for children and adults of all ages. Many of the products on sale within the museum shop are unavailable elsewhere on the High Street.

“Museum Shop Sunday is an ideal time to beat the crowds, get ahead with your Christmas shopping and bag a memorable gift for your loved ones,” added Vikki.

The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum shop will be open on Museum Shop Sunday between 11am – 4pm.
